After a very nice rest day (mostly) on Monday, at the Jontzs' south of Chase, we got going pretty late Tuesday morning. Their ranch was about 40km south of Chase, so I (Ben) had to drive the guys and bikes back up to the Trans-Canada. By the time Dave and Luke cleaned their bikes (dusty gravel roads are not nice to road bikes) and got going, it was 11am.

If you saw the previous post, you'll know that Evan and Luke weren't feeling too great on Monday. They were sick and tired for the later part of the day, we think because of heat exhaustion, so they rested a lot.

Evan still wasn't feeling really great on Tuesday, so he rode with me in the van all day. This helped him recover more, but was still hard on him, because whenever we had the van stopped, it got really hot inside, even with the windows open.

Luke was still feeling tired as well, but wanted to ride, so he and Dave rode over 150km to get to Revelstoke. We camped at a nice place called the Lamplighter Campground, which had a few nice amenities like a camp kitchen, free Wifi, and great tenting ground.

Wednesday was an easy ride. The Riders had an early breakfast and started riding at about 8 am. I stayed behind and cleaned and packed everything up, then met them about 10km from their goal; Illecillewaet Campground, in the middle of Glacier National Park.

They reached the campsite at about noon, and after lunch, went hiking, while I stayed behind and read a book.

After dinner, beef stirfry with rice-leftovers from the previous night-the we went to bed early. Being surrounded by glaciers, and right beside a glacier-water stream, meant that it got pretty cold at night, so we had to cover up well to stay warm.

Finally, today's ride was also fairly easy. The Riders started out a bit after 8, and got to Golden at 1 pm. We hit our first time-change a while before Golden, so it was actually less than 4 hours of riding, for about a 90 km distance. There were lots of downhills for the ride to Golden, and even a few-kilometre stretch that the Riders really enjoyed!
Again, we took it easy today, and in the afternoon, went in-town to get a few things. I got groceries, Evan got some candy from the grocery store, and Luke got a bunch of fudge from a treats shop. We also looked around for some stronger tires at a few bike shops, but did not find anything. Hopefully we'll find something in Banff that we can get, to help prevent another stretch of flats like on this past Saturday.

I'm writing this post outside at the camp office, because there's free power and Wifi here, but I'm now being eaten alive by mosquitos so I think I'll go back to camp.

This was a long post and if you made it to the end, thank you for reading.

Hopefully we can get some photos and a team vlog posted tomorrow when we get to Banff.

Keep it EPIC y'all!
-Ben
